The FNUniv Shared Gardens
First Nations University of Canada
Since 1976, the First Nations University of Canada has been serving the academic,
cultural and spiritual needs of First Nations students. The FNUniv also aims to
preserve, protect and interpret the history, language, culture and artistic
heritage of First Nations. The FNUniv Shared Garden, a community garden with
24 beds available to community members, was developed in May 2008. The
gardeners (elders, students and community youth organizations) grow food for
themselves and FNUniv students. With the help of a $6,000 donation from the FCC
Regina Spirit Fund, the FNUniv will establish an underground water line in order
to keep the Shared Garden, and community, growing.
